Accommodation
Lanarkshire is at the centre of an ambitious billion pound schools modernisation programme.
Athletes, coaches and heads of delegation were accommodated in three of Lanarkshire's new high tech campus schools: St Andrew's & St Brides High School, East Kilbride; Holycross High School, Hamilton; and St Andrew's High School, Coatbridge
These modern, comfortable and safe (24:7 secure entry, CCTV monitoring, secure perimeter fencing) school campuses provided the perfect base for teams offering all the facilities they needed.
Classrooms were converted into separate male and female dormitories and each team member had their own sleeping area within a furnished team dormitory to give comfortable sleeping and seating.
They also had access to meeting areas, common rooms, sports fields and other indoor and outdoor recreation areas.
